The OZEV Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme grant

The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV - Formerly OLEV) is a government department that exists to promote the adoption of low emission vehicles. Their Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme grant makes government funding available to homeowners to reduce the cost of their EV charger. The grant provides a 75% contribution, up to £350 to the cost of one charger and its installation.

Am I eligible for the grant?

To be eligible for the OZEV grant you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

  • Own or lease a qualifying Plug in hybrid or fully electric vehicle. If it’s a lease or company car, you’ll need to evidence that your lease is for 6 months or over.

  • Have Private off-street parking

  • Have an OZEV approved charger. Good news, all of our chargers qualify.

  • An OZEV approved installer must fit your charger. More good news, we only work with approved installers.

  • If you’re applying for the grant for a second time, you must have two qualifying electric vehicles at the property. It isn't possible to apply for the grant a third time.

How do I apply for the grant?

Your installer will apply for the OZEV grant on your behalf. That way they do the heavy lifting and just knock the discount off your invoice. All you need to do is send them some information about yourself, your home and your vehicle so that they can claim it for you. Your installer will explain what’s needed before your installation. It’s really straight forward!

That’s OZEV in a nutshell. Our simple quote journey will ask you a few questions and include the OZEV discount in your price if you’re eligible.
